TS - Daylight
Assalamualaikum
Now I traced the ant-map of our years,
The days when I looked up and saw you,
Bright smile and a lighter soul.
Here's a clue; they were long but time ticked two times faster.
You once told me you knew when it's you,
And now I hoped you sense the truth.
"I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you,"
I tried blurring your vision of me with the story of the beautiful man,
He was indeed breathtaking but did you hear me clear? I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you. I tried laughing off the fragile glasses of mine with the story of a supportive friend. It was indeed sincerity but did you hear me clear? I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you.
I saw flashes of us on the rectangular tables,
And just now I remembered your eyelashes I noticed. The way your own eyes left me speechless.
How beautiful and deadly dangerous the fact you're being too gorgeous. I heard voices which were convinced your name had disappeared,
"I don't wanna think of anything else now that I thought of you,"
But all I could see now were your faded red shirt and sneakers, and your crooked hair and the things you called mockery. I saw the huge blue painting and dropped ink of your little camera, and I heard your counts and the thing you called jocking. I didn't hear myself clear. I don't wanna think of anything else now that I thought of you.
The wooden floor which still held my steps fresh, and the pouring rain we ran through that day. The frozen breath I took in. And yes, not that we shared too much anyway.
I didn't want to bring anyone to the places we've been to. I wanted to hold the frame to be permanent, and still. It was old but freshly watered, long but never forgotten.
"You gotta step into the daylight and let it go,"
