OOR - Last Dance (Live)
Assalamualaikum
Just like the sombre days, you were smiling down,
You felt the night was heavy, begging for it to leave.
The fresh scent was lingering around for days,
And just like the others, you walked in all soaked.
And I couldn't keep pushing you away.
You held a place here, where the roots were rough and old,
They stayed throughout the years without the sight of your warmth.
They lived, throughout all those years we left behind.
So you'd never need to question this recognition and attention,
Though the flowers no longer bloomed, for you I'd water down the dryness,
I'd warm them up with such tenderness.
You never needed it. But you told me you'd like to come again.
And for you, the door was broken down, so you could see me inside our place from afar.
Just like the others, you never came back. I watched you laughing off the bruises we once thought we shared. You kept countless bandages, thinking that you could stop the bleeding. You had always known it was an old wound, salted and opened, over and over again. You took care of it, while welcoming another sprinkles of salts from the sea fairy.
Today, just like the others, I was never considered, never once was near to your radius.
You made it seem like it was meaningless, and it was true that it was okay for me to never show up.
You never needed it; this whole existence. And I'd always forgotten my lesson.
