Sleepless Nights

Assalamualaikum

I took a peek at the sky just now,
It was dark,
Seemed sad,
Just like you.

You couldn't comprehend a thing,
Your outer world and the inside of your head,
Everything was spinning and you had always been losing.

You couldn't smile from your heart,
And it was even harder in loneliness, when none was looking,
You felt helpless, and once again you decided to run away.

They said you always took an easy step,
Running away from the storms and hurricanes,
Hitting every wooden roof and destroying every heart,
They stayed while looking at you packing up yourself and fled away.

They told me it wasn't fair.
But little did they know, you're also hurting.

But not like those who seemed strong, you admitted your defeat,
Raised up the white flag,
Kissed everything goodbye.

Maybe you couldn't think of a way out of the maze,
Everything was so suffocating, even to breathe for a second it was nearly impossible,
Your chest felt tight, you kept everything inside,
Until you couldn't bear it anymore, you knew you needed to leave.
And so you did.

You have always known it- running away won't solve a thing.
But it will, at least, give you time and space to breathe in deep for a while,
Not for once but twice, and even more than thrice.

Find yourself and decide what is important,
What is precious,
And turn back before it's too late.

I'm not going to tell you I'm here, you won't even need me.
But I know someone out there somewhere,
Will always wait for you,
With open arms.

So turn back my mate, before it's too late,
You deserve all the love in this world,
And theirs.

 Assalamualaikum You're deserving of beautiful songs with sweet melodies, Scenting with roses and bits of peonies, Sweet and citrusy, Just like your favourite drink. In my other dream in another night, I felt suffocated as I missed your natural scent so much. And how much I regretted taking another path, Which no longer lead me to you.  I woke up feeling scared and at ease, As you were laying down next to me, Sleeping soundly and still dashingly looking.  You're a blessing sent by Him. And your whole being is everything I need.  And I want no other.  For all the late nights and early mornings, I could never thank you enough.  And no apology could ever make up for everything.
